As the clock strikes 10:45 this Wednesday, an important and almost historic moment will take place in the city of Buzău. The contract for the southern ring road, at a motorway level, will be signed. The 14 km southern ring road of Buzău will start from the edge of Spătaru forest, cross through the south area of Buzău's Industrial Zone and end with a 1.2 km bridge over the railway station Buzău Est and the national road Buzău - Brăila.
The signing of the execution contract will be attended by the prime-minister Marcel Ciolacu and the Minister of Transports, Sorin Grindeanu, coming to Buzău. The constructing contract was attributed to a consortium of Turkish companies: NUROL INŞAAT VE TICARET (leader) - MAKYOL INSAAT SANAYI TURIZM VE TICARET. In Romania, the Turkish companies have completed this year a section of the A3 motorway (Nușfalău - Suplacu de Barcău) and have recently received a section from the Moldavian motorway (A8) Tg. Mureș - Miercurea Nirajului.
The southern ring road of Buzău, at a motorway level, must be completed in 20 months. It is a challenging construction, with many art works - 8 bridges (including a 1.2 km one), two interchanges (Spătaru, E85 and Buzău Est, DN2B) and a service area (near the Industrial Park in Frasinu). This project is vital for the development of the city and its residents, providing a safer and more efficient route for transportation.
