Video Fox News joins Relay for America's cross-country journey celebrating America Fox News correspondent Rich Edson runs with the 'Relay for America' team in Leesburg, Virginia, as they carry a single American flag 3,000 miles across the country. The initiative, marking America's 250th anniversary, sees over 5,000 volunteers honoring veterans and symbolizing national unity and patriotism. Edson interviews participants about the personal significance of their cross-country journey. The patriotism in this country is FLOWING right now, and rightfully so. It is our 250th birthday today, you know? I was, admittedly, a little worried coming into this year. You never know what you're gonna get when it comes to these things, especially when we have so many ... detractors. You know who I'm talking about. But, credit to you. Credit to America. Credit to the patriots across the nation. You all have DELIVERED in a massive way the past few months when it comes to Americana. It's been beautiful to watch unfold. It appears we've settled on "Country Roads" as our birthday anthem this year. It was all the rage during the College World Series, and it bled right into the World Cup. There is nothing quite like hearing 100,000 Americans belting out "Country Roads" in unison. Europe could never. Goodness gracious. What a country! Who has it better than us? Nobody, of course. When folks talk about the "Baseball Gods," this is what they mean. Perhaps. I'd put Mike Piazza's homer after 9/11 right up there. Actually, it's probably No. 1. Tough to top this moment, which also involved the Braves and Mets: Lordy. Chills. It gets me every time. What a sport. You ain't getting moments like that anywhere else, baby! CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM America's Pastime, boys and girls. It's what this great nation is all about.
